Extended Print Help
Hein-On-Line
Respective Journals Collection
Hein-On-Line
provides two options for printing articles: HPrint
and PDF. The articles in Hein-On-Line are stored, displayed, and printed as
high-resolution images. We use
images to faithfully reproduce the page content and layout of the original
document. Page image files tend to
be much larger than text files and, therefore, present some unique issues when
printing them as compared to text files. Hein-On-Line printing requires that your printer have
a minimum of 8 MB of
printer memory and your workstation have 128 MB of memory.

requirements, please click here

Please keep in mind, that you cannot cut and paste text from image pages or search for text strings in an image page. We do provide uncorrected OCR text for each page in Hein-On-Line, which we use to perform full-text searches within a volume and across the entire collection. In addition, you can use this text for cutting and pasting portions of articles into word processing and other programs. You can display the OCR text of any page you are viewing by pressing the button in the Volume Navigation Panel (which appears at the top of the current page you are viewing).
To print a Hein-On-Line page or article, you must be viewing the page or article
you wish to print and use the Hein-On-Line printing tool.

Software downloads
HPrint
HPrint is the Hein-On-Line printing helper application for Windows which will print pages and articles directly to your printer . You must install HPrint on your Windows workstation in order to use this feature.
Install HPrint
(Windows 98/NT/2K/XP only. Uninstall previous versions before installing.)Note: HPrint requires Windows 98 or later; is not available for Windows 95. Using HPrint on Windows 98/ME machines requires Visual Basic runtime files. Because these are common routines, and thus may be already installed on your machine, they are not included in the HPrint installation. You can download an installer for the necessary VB runtime libraries here.
The first time you use an HPrint link above, follow these easy steps to configure your browser. You may wish to print this page before proceeding.

When you use this option, an Acrobat window will appear and the article will be downloaded as a PDF document. Once the article is completely downloaded, use the browser's print function to print it. You can also use your browser’s “send page by e-mail” function to e-mail the PDF version of the article. Due to e-mail file size limitations, you may experience difficulty e-mailing large articles.Adobe Acrobat Reader Tip: If you are experiencing slow printer response time when printing PDFs from HeinOnline, you may want to try using a PostScript driver that is compatible with the printer that you are using. PLEASE NOTE: Changing print drivers could effect the printouts of other documents you may print and/or the format of a document.
