Author/Title Search Help The
Article Author/Title Search allows you to perform
author and title searches of articles in the
Hein-On-Line collection.
These searches are performed from the Article
Author/Title
Search Dialog Screen which will
appear when you press the 'Search Article
Author/Title'button from the 'Collection
Navigation Panel'.

Search Dialog Screen are as follows:

Use
the above components to enter your search words,
select the fields to search and determine the
relationship between the search fields.
Enter your search
words in one or both of the
the search input fields. The words entered into the search input fields are
treated as strings and therefore will find all the
titles or authors that contain all or part of the
words you place in the search input fields.
For example, if you enter 'jur', the search will
find all occurrences of 'jur' in the specified
field, including 'jury' and 'juries'. This will
allow you to search for root words. You can
always get more specific results by entering more
concise search words or broader results by
entering less specific search words. Note:
the Boolean relationship between
multiple words in a search input field is a logical 'AND'.
Use the
'field' pull-down to select to search
'TITLE' or 'AUTHOR' for each search input field.
The default for the first search input field is
'TITLE' and 'AUTHOR' for the second.
Use the 'AND/OR'
pull-down to adjust the relationship between
search input fields. The
two available options are 'AND' and 'OR'.
The default is 'AND'.
Words
typed in the search input fields are not case
sensitive.
Only
words or parts of words are allowed in the search input
fields.
Word 'connectors'
and numbers are not allowed.
In

allows you to perform your search on 'all journals' in the collection or one
specific journal title in the collection.
Use the pull-down to select either
'all journals'or the citation of
the specific journal title you wish to search.
Click
on this component to perform the search.
Click
on this component to clear the search form.
Search Results List Help
Search
results for Author/Title Searches are listed
alphabetically by the author's last name and then by
article title. The search results list will
contain all of the articles in the Hein-On-Line
collection that meet your search criteria.
The search results list will contain the author,
title and citation for each item listed. The
search results list also contains the number of
'Hits' at the end of the list.
To look at any of the volumes listed on the search results list just click the link of the journal or to preserve your original results list do a right-click on the journal link and choose "Open in a New Window." Once you do either of these options, you will be presented with a volume search results
list with every page in the volume that contain the word(s) or phrase for which you are searching.
