SITTINC IN EQUITY.
The answer of Thomas Steers, and Joseph C. -Herr, to the bill
of complaint of John H. Morris, John F. Hampton, and
David C. Andrews.
These Defendants, now and at all times hereafter saving and
reserving unto themselves all manner of advantage and benefit
of exception, which can or may be had or taken to the many
errors, uncertainties and imperfections in the said Complainants'
bill of complaint contained, for answer thereunto, or unto so
much and such parts thereof as these Defendants are advised is
material or necessary for them to make answer unto, answering
say:
I. That we did in the month of December, 1864, along with
said Complainant Morris, agree to purchase from one Simeon
Thornton, a tract or piece of land as described in Complainants'
bill, and for the price therein stated, but we did not know of the
Complainants Hampton and Andrews having any interest in
such purchase, nor did we make any agreement whatever, along
with said Hampton and Andrews, or either of them, nor do we
now know of said Hampton and Andrews having any interest
in said purchase, and if material we crave that they be required
to make due proof thereof.
