The Assembly Committee on Privileges and Elections met at the
Elliott House, Green Island, N. Y., on Tuesday, January 27, 1880,
at three o'clock, PI. M.
PRESENT- Mr. TRAVIS, Chairman, and Messrs. HUIRD, LEFEVEE,
HAGAN, BENEDICT, WARNER, DUELL and HAvENs.
ABSENT - Mr. STEELE.
Mr. Rurus W. PRcKHAx and Hoft. LA Motr W. RHODES, ap-
peared for the sitting member, Hon. JOSEPH HYNES.
lion. HENRY SMI'r and JAMES R. TORRENCE, appeared for the
contestant, Mr. THOMAS LIDDLE.
Mr. TRAVIS - Has the answer in this matter been filed?
Mr. SxTa - We have seen nothing of it.
Mr. PECKHAM - As I understand it our only answer will be that
of a general denial.
iMr. SmrrH - I have the affidavits of two hundred and ninety-five
electors of the fourth district of Albany, town of Watervliet, who
swear that they voted for Thomas Liddle at the last general election.
If there is no objection I will put them in evidence and save the
trouble of calling theme men.
