     At the core of several protest actions against nuclear
disarmament and military intervention all over the world
lies an oft-ignored network of inextricable components
comprising the deadly connection. It is indeed dishearten-
ing to think that the two issues of nuclear arms build-up
and intervention strategies both in industrialized and Third
World nations have been treated as separate ones. It has
not been realized by most organizations in the peace move-
ment both in the United States and in other countries that
these two form part of a single plan fo attain the greatest
influence possible to control and exploit the world's re-
sources (human and otherwise) in order to maintain power
through a system of large-scale war.
     It is in the context of this existing ignorance that the
 well-documented book, The Deadly Connection is appre-
 ciated. The material is a collection of articles that shed
 light on the close relationship between US nuclear war
 policy and US intervention.
     While primarily addressed to peace organizations and
 activists in the U.S., the book is equally important to cause-
 oriented groups in other countries which are trapped in
 the veil of ignorance despite their valid and noble motives
 for mankind. It points out that the reality that must be
