* Nayla Luz Vacarezza is an Associate Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and
Technical Research in Argentina. She also teaches Feminist Theories and Gender Studies at the
Universidad de Buenos Aires. She holds a Sociology degree and a doctoral degree in Social
Sciences from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Additionally, Dr. Vacarezza was Visiting
Scholar at the University at Albany and Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Latin American Studies
at Columbia University. As a feminist scholar and activist, Dr. Vacarezza has been involved with
the abortion rights movements in Argentina and in Latin America's Southern Cone. With a
transnational perspective, her scholarly work focuses on the visual, affective, and cultural aspects
of this activism. She is co-editor (with Cecilia Macon and Mariela Solana) of Affect, Gender and
Sexuality in Latin America (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). Her last co-edited book (with Barbara
Sutton) is Abortion and Democracy. Contentious Body Politics in Argentina, Chile, and
Uruguay (Routledge, 2021).
