About  the Author
David Godfrey is a senior attorney to the American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Law and Aging
in Washington, DC. He is responsible for the commission's work on the National Center on Law and Elder
Rights and works on issues related to decision-making, ethics, and legal service delivery. He also serves on
the NAELA Board of Directors. Prior to joining the ABA, he was responsible for age-related programs at
the Access to Justice Foundation in Lexington, Kentucky. He earned his BA with honors in organizational
communication at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and his JD cum laude at the University of
Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.
