It's Sunday night and you're
heading home after a great
weekend in the mountains.
  Red and blue lights pop to
life from a car coming up
fast behind you. The
startling whine of a siren
breaks your dream.
  By reflex, you touch the
brakes. You glance down at
the speedometer. You
couldn't have been
speeding. Why are you being
pulled over?
  The police officer tells
you his radar locked you in
at 20 kilometers over the
limit. You can't believe
it, but what are you going
to do? You're not going to
hire some expensive Perry
Mason type to fight a $30
ticket. Then again, you'll
lose points. You've already
lost a few the past couple
of years. Your insurance
company may raise the rates
if you lose any more points.
  Think you could fight the
ticket yourself in court?
What kind of evidence could
you get together? Is it
really just your word
against that of the police
officer? Are you dead meat
because they used radar?
How serious is this? Should
you get a lawyer?
