    The NC4A  admitted earlier this week that certain investiga-
    tive tactics used in portions of its inquiry into alleged viola-
    tions ofNCAA rules at the University ofMiamifailed its
    membership.

    staff

    Members of the NC4A enforcement staff have laid down the
    law against the University of Tennessee after discovering that a
    former assistant football coach was in violation of Division I
    rules.

12  Connecticut   Introduces  Additional  Legislation
    Protecting  Collegiate Student-Athletes
    Connecticut continues to be on the cutting edge of collegiate
    sports law, again following in the footsteps of California by
    introducing legislation to protect student-athletes. Proposed
    Bill 205, An Act Concerning Scholarships for Student Athletes
    at Public Institutions of Higher Education (the Connecticut
    Act'), if it becomes law, would assist student-athletes whose
    scholarships have not been renewed due to injury or illness, or
    whose eligibility has expired, complete their degree.
