section 5 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance
upon a person who has refused as aforesaid shall
not prevent his being tried under subsection (a);
but where a person is sentenced to imprisonment
under subsection (a), the period of imprisonment
served by him under the said section 5 shall be
deducted from his sentence.
(2) the following section shall be inserted after section 121:
Molesting     121A. Whoever, knowing that a person has testified
witnesses,     or may testify in a legal proceeding, molests him
with intent to frustrate his testimony or impair his
credibility shall be liable to imprisonment for a
term of one year.
Repeal.        3. The Law of Evidence Amendment Ordinance, 1936 and every
notice given under section 2 thereof are hereby repealed.
LAND LAW, 5729-1969
The Land Law 1969 is one of the most important legislative enactments
since the establishment of the State. For this reason its text is reproduced in
full below. A subsequent issue will contain a critical analysis of the provisions
of the Law. It is hoped that by publishing the text and a critical evaluation
thereof in separate issues readers will be assisted in studying the Law and
the evaluation side by side.
CHAPTER ONE: INTERPRETATION
Definitions.    1.   In this Law -
immovable property means land, everything built or planted on
land and every other thing permanently fixed to land, except sever-
able fixtures;
settled property means immovable property registered after settle-
ment under the Land (Settlement of Title) Ordinance (New Ver-
sion), 5729-1969;
registration or entry means registration or entry in the Land
Registers maintained under this Law or the regulations made there-
under;
Registrar means a registrar appointed under section 116 for the
Office in the area of operation of which the property in question
is situated;
Inspector means an inspector appointed under section 117 in whose
area of jurisdiction the property in question is situated;
lease includes a sublease.
