 A NEW PRESIDENT
Our 1979-1980 Chicago Association of Law Libraries is very fortunate to
have as our new president the talented, thoughtful and hard-working
Librarian from the firm of Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz--- Miss
 Denise Mahaney.

Denise graduated from Rosary College in 1972, and since that time has
had the opportunity to observe the growth and development of the law. firm
library at Vedder, Price, a firm specializing in employee relations, tax,
and variou forms of labor and corporation law. Denise has watched as
her firm grew, as with so many of the law firms in Chicago, and as her.
firm grew, so did her responsibilities as librarian, in accomodating
the research needs of her attorneys. Denise has experience in every
aspect of law firm librarianship, having started as a one-person library
staff. Today she has expanded her staff with a full-time assistant.

Denise has been a member of CALL since 1973, and has served as Secretary
and President-elect on the Board. Denise has also been the Board liaison
for the Education Committee of CALL.

Denise's goals as president encompass the full scale of development of
the talents of the membership of CALL with an attitude of openness which
she hopes will create a solid support for the work of each committee.
Denise has said.that her main goal will'be to see that the organization
does not become stagnant, and to encourage without fear of failure.
the talents and programs which will promote the sharing of our combined
abilities.
