SUMMARY OF THE EXECUTIVE
      BOARD MEETING

    JANUARY 27, 1977

The Board met to set up the time table for the election of
officers for the 1977-78 term. The ballots will be in the mail
by February 4, 1977 and should be in the hands of the Election
Chairman by March 1, 1977 for counting and validation.

The Board also considered and approved two proposals presented
at the meeting. The CONELL scholarship donated byothe Reids' will
be given away at the Annual Business Meeting in May, 1977. An
application form for entry in the drawing will be found elsewhere
in this Newsletter. The Education Committee has proposed a Materials
Update for various areas in the field of law. Librarians whose
collections or expertise lie in one of the areas chosen by the Educa-
tion Committee for updating were asked to compile bibliographies for
their field of law.

The Board also started a discussion of a proposal by the Fall
Institute Committee but will hold another meeting in early February
for the purpose of working out further details prior to approval or
disapproval.
