  SUMMARY OF THE EXECUTIVE
        BOARD MEETING

      DECEMBER 3, 19.76


     The Executive Board met on December 3, 1976.

     The first item on the agenda was the result of a phone survey of
the Board.on two points: The Retired Member status for Frank Schuetz
which was approved; and the Education .Committee proposal for a lecture
and luncheon to be held on Copyright Law and given by Mr. William
North of Kirkland & Ellis, which was-also approved.

     The Nominations Committee sent to. the Board their slate of
nominees for officers for the 1977-78 year which are as follows,:


      President
President-Elect
      Secretary.
      Director


Mary V. Shields
Janice Bentley
Denise Mahaney
(Contested Office)
Maria Chase
Stephen Czike


[Ross, Hardies]
[Mayer, Brown]
[Veddee, Price]

[Northwestern U.1

     The Board has in regard to this election extended the date for
submission of additional candidates for office.from January 1, 1977
until January 15, 1977 so that all proper nominees are considered.
For information as to procedure see Article VIII, Section 3 of the
By-laws. The Board has also set up the following charge to the
Election Committee:

          1)  Members who have paid their dues for the current year by
               January 15, 1977 will be sent ballots.
         .2)   Ballots must be returned in the envelope'that will be
               provided..
          3)  Write-in votes will invalidate the vote for that parti-
               cular office but will not invalidate the whole ballot.
          4)   In contested offices, where there is a write-in vote or
              more than one person is voted for, that vote for.that
              particular office will be invalidated but it will not
              invalidate the whole ballot.
