                                  INTRODUCTION



    Pablo   Picasso's Les  femmes   des Algers  sold  for  a record-shattering
$179,365,000  at a Christie's auction in May 2015.1 Although this sale made Les
femmes  des Algers  the most expensive painting of all time, its record will no
doubt  be broken in the future. Buying and  selling art has long been seen as a
