ARTICLE 1
DEFINITIONS
In this [Act]:
(1) 'Authenticate' means to sign or to execute or otherwise adopt a symbol,
or encrypt or similarly process a record, in whole or in part, with the present
intent of the authenticating person to identify the person and adopt or accept a
record.
(2) 'Anonymous donor' means a gamete donor whose identity is not known
to any prospective parent.
(3) 'Assisted reproductive technology' means a method of causing
pregnancy other than by sexual intercourse. The term includes, but is not limited
to, artificial insemination, other than self insemination, donation of eggs,
donation of sperm, donation of embryos, and in-vitro fertilization and transfer of
embryos.
(4) 'Egg' means the ovum, the yolk, the germinal vesicle, and the coverings
