a) Nu exlsta o limbd valaha, ci este vorba despre

b) Valahii de pe Valea Timocului bulgdresc sunt

       Abstract

The work presents some new points of view
regarding the origin and the language of the so-called
,Wallachians on the Bulgarian Timoc Valley. The
work considers the language spoken by the Wallachians
in the area and the region's toponymy, emphasizing two
important ideas:
a) There is not a Wallachian language, but it is about
the Romanian language and this one has an archaic
form and a vocabulary reduced to only 400-500 words.
b) The Wallachians on the Bulgarian Timoc Valley
come from Oltenia's area (especially around Calafat
and Segarcea) from where they have emigrated 200-300
years ago.

Considering the problem of the South-
Danubian Wallachians' origin, there are
several points of view in the specialty
literature. According to one of them, three
centuries ago, at time of Vidin Pasha, Osman
Pazvantoglu, hundreds of thousands of
villagers from around Craiova had emigrated
to the south of the Danube. The Vidin Pasha
had declared his autonomy in front of the
Gate, instituting a permissive system.
