His practice has encompassed Islamic investment and financial transactions in the realm of private equity, real estate, cross-border joint ventures, and the design of novel products and transactions. He has advised clients in the energy, healthcare, technology, and business services sectors. He is a lecturer in Law at the University of Connecticut where he teaches courses in Islamic law and Islamic finance and investment law. t LL.M. (University of California, Berkeley), LL.B. Samir is a qualified Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, having trained at a leading international law firm based in London, where he focused on banking, disputes, and energy related matters. At Berkeley Law he earned specialization certificates in both Business Law and Energy & Clean Technology Law, served as Senior Editor and Symposium Editor on the Board for the Berkeley Journal of Middle Eastern and Islamic Law, helped introduced the university's first Islamic finance class, and organized the Fourth UC Berkeley Islamic Finance Forum.
