REV. 551, which was edited by Professors Michael I. Swygert and Robert Batey. The original issue contained essays intended to pro- vide entering law students with the knowledge and confidence to grasp the many opportunities that a legal education yields. Essays included How Not to Write Answers to Law Examinations, An Ex- planation of Clinical Education, and Life After Law School: The Placement Search. With the passage of time, however, the law school experience and the practice of law have changed. Thus, this publication is an update to the 1983 issue and addresses some con- temporary topics. To effectuate this symposium, the Stetson Law Review updated some of the original essays and solicited new works. Some of the essays not updated, including Putting Law School Grades in Per- spective, by Professor Michael I. Swygert; Seminars and Indepen- dent Research: In-Depth Learning, by Professor Robert Dale Bickel; A Critique of the Litigation Emphasis of Legal Education, by Professor Jon W. Bruce; and The Role of Social Sciences in the Study of Law, by Professor Michael Finch, have withstood the test of time, and we encourage you to review them. New topics in this issue include young lawyers' involvement in the legal profession, a global perspective of the law school experience, and the importance of ethics and morality in today's legal world. We also included essays by current and former law students who provide advice and share their experiences.
