Personal data has emerged as a criticalresource, driving significant advancements
in various sectors but also raising substantial concerns regarding data privacy
and security. The rapid proliferation of digital technologies and the internet has
exponentially increased the volume and value of personal data, necessitating
robust legislative measures to protect individual privacy rights.1 The General
Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), implemented   by the European  Union in
2018, is widely regarded as a gold standard in data protection legislation. It
provides comprehensive  guidelines on data handling, processing, and privacy,
establishing stringent requirements  for data  controllers and processors.2
The GDPR   influence extends beyond Europe,  setting a benchmark for global
data protection practices and inspiring legislative reforms in other regions.3
As  Tikkinen-Piri et al.4 noted, the GDPR robust framework  has compelled
organizations worldwide to reconsider their data protection strategies, leading
to significant enhancements in  global data privacy standards. In contrast,
India, amidst its rapid digital transformation, has proposed the Personal Data
Protection Bill (PDPB) to address similar concerns. India's digital landscape is
characterized by a burgeoning internet user base and a thriving digital economy,
making  data protection an urgent priority.5 The PDPB aims to create a legal
