More than ten years have passed. It seems an appropriate time to review and eva- luate French case law and present the current state of French law in light of past jurispru- dence. A similar, and rather focused and ex- haustive, evaluation was made for Belgium by Professors Lucien Simont and Andrd Bruy- neel (Revue belge de la banque, 1989) and for West Germany, by Mr. Herbert Stumpf (bankgarantien,5th ed, 1987) RD.... .
