psychology at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada, he received all his
degrees from the University of London, including a Ph.D. in social psychology from the
London School of Economics and Political Science. He is the author of five books and 200
articles, and is a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the American
Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Psychological Association. He
