I. INTRODUCTION
Most, if not all, health professions have ethical standards regarding sexual
boundaries between providers and clients or patients.' Such standards may also be

the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine.
Rebecca C. Wilbur is a Doctoral Candidate in Psychology at Pacific University. Katherine Rios is a
recent graduate of UNCW, with Honors in Psychology. Dr. Plaut may be reached at
