I.   Introduction
The biopsy comes back positive-cancer. But the doctor is not
concerned. She gives you a series of prescriptions to take over the
coming weeks. One drug will attack the tumor, another will cut off
its blood supply and a third will activate your immune system to
eradicate the remaining malignant cells.   You're lucky this is
happening in 2050, she tells you. If you had been diagnosed in 1950
or even 2000, you would have likely died within the year.
