IN THE
CASE OF THE REPRESENTATIVES
OF
DANIEL JONES.
We have examined, although but cursorily, yet
satisfactorily, the claims exhibited upon the part of
the descendants of Daniel Jones, to certain real estate
of immense value, situated in the City of Philadel-
phia and the Northern Liberties. k Prima facia, there
is no doubt resting upon the face of the title of those
parties. The title to the property which they claim
being by unequivocal and unquestionable documents,
established to have been legally vested in Daniel
Jones, their progenitor. If Daniel Jones has not
parted with the said property, and I have met with
nothing to induce me to suppose he has, apA if his
daughter Rebecca and her husband, to whom it must
have descended, did neither convey it nor suffer it to
be sold under executions, then it must have come
regularly down to the four children of the said Re-
becca and Philip Packer, viz. Samuel, Daniel, Rhoda:
and Rebecca. Under two of those, viz. Samuel and
Rhoda, the present claims arise, and the question
put to us is, whether, in the first place, the title in
Samuel Jones is regular and sufficient; secondly,
whether there is any thing in the Act of Limitations
calculated to bar us from a recovery.
