Editorial

'Make freedom your foundation, through the mastery of yourself', said
the Stoics. Some would rather believe that life will go on only by way
of adaptation to the environment. This is wrong, Stoics were right. Life will go
on only on the foundation of freedom, adaptation is next to death. Then how is
one to avoid dying and continue in the state of self-mastery? One must take care
of the conditions of possibility of self-mastery, which is what No Foundations
has tried to do. In other words, it has tried to create a space for freedom.
For the time being, this is my last editorial for No Foundations. The baton
will be picked up by Monica Lopez Lerma and Julen Etxabe, who will be editors-
in-chief as of today. I want to wish them luck and thank all the contributors and
collaborators who have made the thing happen over the six or seven years of its
life thus far.
