It is possible to measure delinquency using a number of methods including official criminal records, victimization surveys, structured interviews, and self-report questionnaires.Of the methods available, the use of official criminal records as an accurate measure of delinquency is prob- lematic because official records representa small percentage of actual offenses committed by juveniles.
