OECISION . . OF THE UNITED STATES
                         WASHINGTON. 0.C. 20548

FILE: B-208418.2 DATE: March 17, 1983

MATTER OF: Simulators Limited, Inc.--Reconsideration

DIGEST:

GAO will not waive the Bid Protest Proced-
ures' requirement that a request for recon-
sideration be filed within 10 working days
after the basis for reconsideration is
      known.

Simulators Limited, Inc. (Simulators) requests recon-
sideration of our decision, Simulators Limited, Inc.,
 B-208418, November 23, 1982, 82-2 CPD 473, denying its
protest against the Department of the Army's evaluation of
proposals received in response to a solicitation for tar-
get flight services. We dismiss the request.

Our Bid Protest Procedures require that requests for
reconsideration be filed within 10 working days after the
 basis for reconsideration is known. 4 C. F. R. § 21.9
(1982). Simulators admits that its request is untimely
under that rule--the firm received our decision on
December 13, 1982 and did not request reconsideration
until January 21, 1983--but asks that the time requirement
 be waived.
While our Procedures provide for our consideration of
untimely protests where a significant issue is involved or
 good cause is shown, 4 C. F. R. S 21.2(c), there is no
similar provision regarding untimely requests for recon-
sideration. Instead, the timeliness standards for the
filing of requests for reconsideration are purposefully
more inflexible than those for filing protests, or for
meeting intermediate case development and or processing
 deadlines. U.S. Financial Services, Inc.--Reconsidera-
 tion, B-195945.6, B-198276.3, November 3, 1981, 81-2 CPD
376; Department of Commerce--Request for Reconsideration,
 B-186939, July 14, 1977, 77-2 CPD 23.

Simulators' untimely request for reconsideration is
 dismissed.
