Tenavision, Inc. --ieconsiderattion

Ten-day period for filing request
for reconsi'deration 6f protest Is
not tolled while protester seeks
advice or information regarding
reconsideration from another party.

     Tanavision, Inc. (Tenavision); requests reconsideration
of our June I1, 1982, decision, B-207505, 82-1 CPD 563,
which dismissed as untimely Tenav'sion's protest against
the award of a contract under soliciVation No. 1$72474-81-
C-8274 issued by the Department of the Navy.

The request for reconsideration altio Is untimely.

The request for reconsideration was filed with our
Office on July 23, 1982, 29 working daye After issuan e
of the decision. Our Bid Protest Procedut'nd require that
a requust for reconsidetation be filed wlthin 10 workling
days of when a protestet' knows or should have known the
baeis for reconuideration. See 4 C.F.R. 20.,$(b) (1982).
The 10-day period for reconsTieration begins to run with
the rceipt of our decision. Boll & Howell Ccsniany_ -
Reconsideration, B-203235.6, March2, 1982; 82..l CPD 183.
Although Tenavision indicates that the delay in. filing
the request for reconsideration after receipt of the
deciidon was due to the fact that It sought advice
regarding the reconsideration from another party Y efore
filing, the time period for filing Is not tolled while
a protester seeks advice or information ft,.om another
party. See Crown Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Inc*,
B-194505, July 18, 1979, 79-2-CPD 38.

      Consequently, we dismisa the request
reconsid'jration.
