                seems reasonable in statute that covers
                entire State and therefor may be retained
                by Federal enployees who serve on juries
                pursuant to 5 U.S.C'. 622(a) (1970). See
                52 Coop. Gen. 325 {1972).

     This decision is in response to a subissTon by Mr. Peter J.
 Verdin, an Authorized Certifying Officer of the Federal Aviation
 Administration (FAA), Department of Transportaticn, &ated April 13,
 1973, which requests our decision as to wihether a governrent
 employee nay retain an expense allowance wlhich was received
 for service as a juror in the State of Georgia.

      An employee of thejFA who resides in GCorgia was called
 for jury duty in the Bibbs County Superior Court, Georgia and served
 for 4 days. Section 59-127of  the Georria Code Annotaterd (Cupp..
 1974) provides, in partinent part, as foliows:

          The first grand jury inoanoted at the fall
      term oF the superior courts o; the several counties
      shall fix:



           (b) An expanse allevancc for jurors in the
      superior court of such counties for the next suc-
      ceeding year, such expense allowance not to be less
      than $5 nor to exceed $25 per di-m. Te  sa:e expecnse
      allowance shall be allowed to ju-ors of the sevccai
      State courts and soecial courts as is alud   jurors
      in the superior court of the confty in whic toe State
