A claim sutmitted to the Navy Finance Center by OSC
ralph R. Rogers invclved ccmpensaticn due Mr. fcge:s for moving
his own household goods. Under the Department of Def,:nsels
do-it-yourself' program, he was entitled to ccmpensation based
on a percentage of the costs the Gcvernment would have incurred
if a commercial i-er had been employed. Findings/Conclusions:
The single weight ticket Hr. Rogers submitted in support of his
claim did not give the ?inance Center the net weight of the
goods moved, nor did it provide the Center with the information
it needed to compute the net weight. Since net weight is the
basis for payment, .the center had no alternative but to seek
other mean: to establish the net weight, delaying the final
settlement of the claim. According to the records of the Finance
Center, a check has teen sailed to Hr. Rogers for this claim.
