         Dear W. Scborri

              This in $n reply to your letter of August 24, 1973, requesting mar
         dociuiou a to the applicability of two prior decisions of this Office,
         24 Co=p. Gn, 179 (1944) and 19 Comp, Cen. 414 (1939), vith regard to a
         reclaim travel voucher subsitted by Mr. Eugene B. Quadri, an euployas of
         the Bureau of Indian Affairs,

              Hr. qAdri is claiming per diem for the period in which he vow
         assiged to represent the Bureau in conducting a group of Huticofl Edi-
         catiorn Association representatives on a tour of the area, You state.
         that a portion of the  wounts reclatned by Xr. Quadri represent an over-
         idght stay at the Hilton Uotel, Albuquerqu, Nev  exico, and were origi-
         nally disallowed on the basis that Mr. Quadri resides in Corrale, only
         1 ntiles from the hotel, We note howner, from a copy of the original
         travel tvucher, that amounts claimed for two overnight stayi in
         Albuquerque were certified for paynent. The amounts disallowed and
         raclaied are for tins spent in or near Santa Fe, which yoa state were
         disallowed because Santa 7. is k, Quadri's persment duty station,

              Renarding the claim for per diem for trmporary duty in Santa Te
         and Albuqutrque, the Standardized Goverwent Travel Relat.ons (ST),
         in force and affect during the tie in quertiou, rad in pertinent part
         as follows
