                The request has boon forarded by the Per Diem, Travel and
           Transportntion Allo;ance Co:matteoe and anoigued PDTATAC Contro]l
           No. 73-29.

               Since the -.wmberla duty station and the renidence of his
           dependants both are in Alasa, the viw in oxpresool that the basic
           requirovwntn, ,f paragraph 1.14300-1 of the Joint Travel Regulations
           (tember with Depondento) were satisfied. Under paragraph 114300-3 of
           the regulationu, .pendents are considered as residing in the vicinity
           of a oo l)orlu ds ty station for any period (luring which they actually
           reside in the country within whicl ito merber's pernanent duty etaton
           is located.

               The Asaistant Secretnry anys further that since our above-cited
          decision relates to dependents who were authorized to travel to a
