            Because many energy decisions of the Fede,-al Energy AGdnilistra !ion
        (FEA) impact on consumers, environmentalists, industry, State dnA local
        governments, and State regulatory utility comnissicrs, it is ess!  ial
        that FEA receive and consider inpur from representatives of tihese groups
        before making energy policy decisions.   The Federal Energy   .   rat4c:
        Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-275) provides FEA with a rechani;m  zr receiv-
        ing, this input through the establishment   f adviszc; co.rmit , s.  4s of
        February 1:97, FEA had 14 advisory comittees olith .a total of 275
        r e:bers.
