The cover picture shows the Honorable Francis G. Dunn, most
recent appointee to the South Dakota Supreme Court. Born in Scenic
in 1913, he took his undergraduate work at USD and law at George
Washington University. He served as a Naval intelligence officer during
WWII. From 1946 to 1950 he was a trial attorney for the Department
of Justice in Washington, D. C., Assistant U.S. Attorney 1950-54,
associated with Doyle, Mahoney & Dunn, Sioux Falls, from 1954-56,
Sioux Falls Municipal. Judge from 1956-59, and was Second Ciruit
Court Judge from 1959 until his appointment to the Supreme Court.
