Miller, who was appointed Sixth Circuit Judge on January 2, 1971. He was born in Aberdeen, attended the University of South Dakota, and graduated from the Law School in 1963. He served in the Attorney General's office from graduation until February, 1965, at which time he opened an office for the general practice of law in Philip. He continued the practice and was Haakon County States Attorney until his judicial appointment. On Sep- tember 5, 1964, he married Shirlee Schlim of Howard and has three children.
