Vol.1 FEBRUARY, 1937 No. I FOREWORD The Board of Governors of the Bar Association of San Francisco, believing a greater unity and cohesion of the membership is very desirable, has established SAN FRANCISCO BAR, which will be published every two months. It will record the proceedings of the Board and of the committees, and will serve to acquaint the membership with current matters of common interest. The Bar Association of San Francisco has over 1240 members, despite the fact that this is purely a voluntary association, and that every member is, of necessity, also a member of the statutory State Bar. Meetings of the members of our voluntary local organ- ization are, however, seldom attended by more than a few hundred, and the activities of the Association, its com- mittees and officers, are too often practically unknown to the membership generally. It is the hope of the Board that SAN FRANCISCO BAR Will materially aid the membership in united thought and action in all matters looking to the betterment of the administra- tion of justice and the upholding and preservation of pro- fessional standards.
