Ihe meeting will be held in the State Suite in the Sheraton-Biltmore Hotel in Providence and will begin at 4:00 p.m. Reports of Committees and any business of the Association may be brought up at this meeting. At 6:00 p.m. there will be an inter- ssion for a social hour and the Annual uner will take place in the Garden Room at 6:30 p.m. Chief Judge Charles S. Desmond Principal speaker at the dinner will he Charles S. Desmond, Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals. Judge lk)esmond is a positive personality and he believes affirmative action must be ini- tiated by the bench and bar to keep pace with modern society, which shows 'ittle regard for delays which to it seem unjustified. In the M1ay, 1964 issue of the Rhode Island Bar Journal, Judge 1)esmond was author of the affirmative side to the question, Should Civil Jury 'rials Be Abolished?'' The article had previously been printed in the New York 'l'imes. Bar Annual To Be Dishibuted Ihe second issue of the Rhode Island Bar Annual, received with much ac- claim last year in its first issue, will be ready for distribution at the dinner. Editor William J.
