Cooper Unveils 'Bold' Plans for 2010

Savoth to Become ChanceRor in 2012


JOHN E. SAVOTH, OF COUNSEL TO SALTZ
Mongeluzzi Barrett & Bendesky, PC, will serve
as Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar As-
sociation in 2010 after running unopposed in
the Tuesday, Dec. 8 election. Savoth will serve
as Chancellor-Elect in 2011 and Chancellor in
2012.
  The following candidates for Bar offices also
ran unopposed and began serving in their posi-
tions on Jan. 1: Secretary, Kathleen D. Wilkin-
son; Assistant Secretary, Sophia Lee; Treasurer,
Joseph A. Prim Jr.; and Assistant Treasurer,


Wesley R. Payne.
  The following candidates for Board of Gov-
ernors were unopposed and began serving their
terms on Jan. 1.: Stacy A. Tees, Brandi Brice,
Scott P Sigman, H. Marc Tepper and Kimberly
Ruch-Alegant.
  The following seven candidates were elected
to three-year terms on the Young Lawyers
Division Executive Committee: Alexandra
Antoniou, Rachel E. Branson, Roxane Crowley,
Ryan G. Gatto, Joseph P Guzzardo, Paul W.
Kaufman and Matthew G. Laver.

pendent judiciary. An attack on your
independence is an attack on all of us.
We stand with you and we will stand in
front of you, should any attack this most
important tenet of our third branch of
government
  He discussed Britain's Legal Services
Act, which will allowa form ofprivate
equity investment in the ownership of
law firms. He said the plan has been in
the works there for more than a decade.
