Thle Bankruptcy Comrmtee of the
Business Law Section has scheduled
an ediCational program for Wednesday
Jan. 17 at noon mt the Conference Cen-
ter at Bar Headquarters. The program
is a one-hour presentation on the sub-
tect of Fraudulent Convryances and
Section 548 of the Bankruptcy Code 
Speakers will be James M. Matour and
Bruce S. Schlkraut of Wof. BIock,
Schorr & Sohs-Cohen.

Deborah R. Willig began her term as lice Lhancellor on Januarc 1.
Elected on Dec. 7. 1989 during the Bars Annual Election, Willig will
serve as the first woman Chancellor of the Association in 1992.

Task force calls for drug court

The Puladelpua Cnrinal justice Task
Force has urged the creation of a separate
drug court and mandatory drug treat-
oment programs to address the court back-
heg and prison overcrowding situation at
Philadelptua. The Task Force. appoarted
in June by Chief Justice Robert N.C. Nx

Tlhe Task Force, under the leadership
eef Professor A. Leo Leym as chair and
Association Chancellor Arthur G. Raynes
as vice chair devised a two-part strategy
for the disposition of drug-related cases
wich, an 1989. totaled one-third of all
court cases filed. flhe first part of the
strategy includes the creation of a new 13-
pudge division and drug court to handle
the rast majonty of drug felony cases.

short-term solunon aimed at redurmg the
