Working from a short agenda, the
Board approved a resolution from
the Committee on Compulsory Ar-
bitration calling for technical
changes in Rule 1311 of the Penn-
sylvania Rules of Civil Procedure.
The resolution recommends that
the rule be amended by removing
the words 'and in the judgment in-
dex'from Section (a)(1) of the Rule,
and by striking in its entirety Sec-
tion (b) of the Rule.
In other action, the Board ap-
proved a resolution from the Civil

Rights Committee conce hinge
protection of the civil rights of
Americans in Philadelphia. The res-
olution condemns 'the acts of vio-
lance which have been perpetrated
against the Hmong and other Asian
Americans in our City and urges
that all appropriale agencies, in-
cluding the Philadelphia Police De-
partment, take the steps necessary
to protect the civil rights of Asian
Americans. The resolution also
supports the request of the Con-
corned Asian American Lawyers,
addressed to Mayor W. Wilson
Goode, for the creation of task
forces to investigate attacks on
Asian Americans, to prosecute as-
sailants, to investigate the root
problems giving rise to these at-
tacks and to irpossible solutions
to this problem.
