Re: Ernst Rabel
Dear Professor Hazard:
Thus far we have found papers concerning Ernst Rabel that
were written from 1941-48. There are reports, drafts,
periodical articles, and correspondence with Dr. Rabel and
with persons interested in his cause. Much of the
correspondence is about Dr. Lewis' efforts to raise funds to
support Dr. Rabel. After the University of Michigan could no
longer support Dr. Rabel, Dr. Lewis advanced his own funds.
For a time it seemed as though he would not receive
reimbursement.
As yet I have not read all the papers that we have retrieved.
I think we might find additional information in the files on
the Statement of Essential Human Rights. All the papers are
suffering from aging. Some are slightly water damaged.
Because we are working on several other assignments, there
may be some delay in completing this project.
Sincerely yours,
Loretta U. McConnell
