INTRODUCTION
Sexual activity between adolescents and adults is not a
phenomenon new to modem times.1 This type of behavior can be
traced back well into history.2 What has changed in recent decades is
the genders of those engaged in the conduct. Traditionally, when one
thinks of an adult and an adolescent engaging in sexual activity, the
image of an adult male and a teenage/prepubescent girl comes to mind.
However, in recent years, there has been a number of sexual abuse
cases involving adult women and adolescent males.
Lisa Zuniga admitted to having a sexual relationship with her 13-
year-old male student.3 Dawn Reiser was convicted of having sex with
a male student of the same age.4 Sarah Bench-Salorio was charged and
pled guilty to 29 counts of lewd acts with her 11-year-old male
student.5 Debra LaFave pled guilty to having sexual intercourse with
