Erika Lietzan is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Missouri. She researches, writes, and teaches primarily in the areas of drug and device regulation, intellectual property, and administrative law. Professor Lietzan practiced law for eighteen years before joining academia, including eight as a partner at Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. Her current scholarship, which is informed by this experience, explores the way the intellectual property system and the modern administrative state work together to encourage, or discourage, innovation. Professor Lietzan is an elected member of the American Law Institute and has degrees from the University of North Carolina, the University of California Los Angeles, and Duke University School of Law.
