Airlines; makes these air carriers parties to the pro-
ceeding and orders consolidation for hearing and deci-
sion with the proceeding in Docket No. 4542.

Denies petitions of Pan American World Airways, North-  '8-14-51
ern Consolidated Airlines, and Wien Alaska Airlines for:
reconsideration of'Board order No. E-5413 in the


  INot released during this period.

  Grants Northeast Airlinos exemption, subject to stated   8-16-51
  conditions, from the provisions of section 401 (a) of
  the Act and of its certificate for route No. 27, so as
  to permit it to engage in certain flights over segment 5-
  during the season June 15 to September 30, 1951, be-
  tween New York, N.Y., and White River Junction, Vt.,with,
  with a single intermediate stop at Keene, N..,;  other-
Swis   denies.


United States-Alaska Service Case.

Amends order No. E-5590 so as to institute investiga-   :8-14-51
tion of and &uspend'to November 13, 1951, certain re-
duced fares contained on 2nd and 3rd revised pages 8 of
Local Passenger Fares Tariff No. PF-1, C.A.B. No. 2,
proposed by Air Transport Associates for air trans-
portation from Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska, to
Seattle, Y.ash., and from Seattle to Fairbanks; orders
hearing before an-examiner of the Board at a time and
place to be designated.

Denies motion of Mid-est  Airlines to sever all matter ; 8-14-51
relating to segment 2 of route No. 106 and reopen the .
remainder of the proceeding in the North Central Route
Investigation Case.

Denies motion of Air Transport Associates for immediate '8-14-51
hearing in the matter of its application for a certifi-
cate, or for an exemption so as to engage in air trans-
portation of mail between the United States and Alaska.

Extends from Aug. 24, 1951, to Nov. 21, 1951, the       -8-15--51
period of suspension of the Official Passenger Charter
Tariff No. 2 C.A.B. No. 23, of The Flying Tiger Line,
insofar as applicable to interstate and/or overseas
air transportation.

Grants the city anfd Chamber of Comnerce of Houston, 8-15-51
and the Chamber of'Commeroe of Lustin, Texas, leave to
intervene in the AdditionIal North-South Service to
Tulsa Case'.

Grants the city and Chamber of Commerce of Danville,  .8-15-51
Va., and Chamber of Comerce  of Kingsport, Teni.,
leave to intervene in the matter of the renewal of
the temporary certificate of Piedmont Aviation for
route No. 87.
