AIRLIFT INTERNATIONAL, INC. Dockets 22190, 22659,
                                                      22906 and 23494
for authority to temporarily
suspend service.

                    ORDER GRANTING TEMPORARY SUSPENSION

On January 26, 1973, Airlift International, Inc. filed an appli-
cation in Docket 22906 pursuant to section 401(j) of the Federal Aviation
Act of 1958, as amended, and Part 205 of the Board's Economic Regulations
requesting, inter alia, authority to continue the suspension of its
service at Boston andTampa for a period of two years or until final
decision in the Airlift Renewal Case, Docket 18060. 1/ Subsequent to
the filing of that application, the Board issued its decision in the
Renewal Case (Orders 73-3-58 and 73-3-59, served March 19, 1973).

Airlift's suspensions at Boston and Tampa were authorized by Order
71-2-18, dated February 3, 1971, and expired by their terms on
February 3, 1973. Similar suspensions were authorized at West Palm
Beach and Orlando to expire August 12, 1973, or 90 days after final Board
decision in the Renewal Case, whichever shall first occur; 2/ and at
Hartford-Springfield, St. Louis, Indianapolis, New Orleans, and St. Thomas
until December 14, 1974. 3/ In the Renewal Case, the Board extended
Airlift's underlying certificate authority at each of the foregoing cities.

1/ The application also requested an exemption to provide nonstop
service in the Dallas-Atlanta market and other relief. Those requests
will be the subject of a subsequent order. Delta Air Lines, Inc. filed
an answer on February 15, 1973, with respect to the Dallas-Atlanta
exemption; however, no answers have been received objecting to renewal
of Airlift's suspensions at Boston and Tampa.
2/ Order 71-8-55, dated August 12, 1971.
3/ Order 72-12-70, dated December 15, 1972, as amended by Order 73-3-60,
served March 19, 1973.
