                        ORDER CONFIRMING AUTHORITY

Summary

This order confirms our oral action of December 4, 1985, granting
Trinidad and Tobago (BWIA International) Airways Corporation, (BWIA)
authority to commence, on December 19, 1985, scheduled service of
persons, property and mail between Boston, Massachusetts and Barbados,
subject to conditions. 1/ The authority was granted for one year, or
until 90 days after final action on BWIA's permit application filed in
Docket 43476, whichever occurs first. 2/

Application
By application filed October 10, 1985, BWIA requested an exemption from
section 402 of the Act to conduct scheduled service between Boston,
Massachusetts and Barbados, transporting persons, property, and mail, to
commence December 19, 1985. BWIA proposed to offer four one-way nonstop
flights per week between Boston and Barbados with continuing service by




1/   BWIA currently holds authority to conduct scheduled service
operations between various European and Caribbean points and New York and
Miami under a foreign air carrier permit last issued by Order 82-1-7,
November 12, 1981. BWIA also holds exemption authority to serve Salines,
Grenada on its New York-Port of Spain service.
2/   On October 10, 1985, BWIA filed an application for a foreign air
carrier permit in Docket 43476, requesting authority to operate between
Boston and Barbados via Kingston, Jamaica, Antigua, St. Kitts and St.
Lucia. The submissions in Docket 43476 were incorporated by reference in
Docket 43475.
