ORDER REQUIRING CONTINUATION OF ESSENTIAL AIR TRANSPORTATION

On August 13, 1984, Britt Airways, Inc., filed a 90-day notice of its intent to
suspend all of its service to Sterling/Rock Falls, Illinois, effective
      November 12, 1984.

Since the suspension of service to Sterling/Rock Falls by Britt would deprive
the community of essential air service, in accordance with section 419(a)(6) of
the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, as amended, by CAB Order 84-10-68, dated
October 16, 1984, the Civil Aeronautics Board (Board) prohibited the carrier
from suspending its service to Sterling/Rock Falls. The carrier's service
obligation has been extended for consecutive 30-day periods. The latest
extends through February 9, 1985 (CAB Order 84-12-64).

In CAB Order 84-10-68, the Board requested proposals to provide essential air
service to Sterling/Rock Falls from all interested carriers and initiated a
review of the essential air service determination for Sterling/Rock Falls.

Britt submitted a proposal to provide service to Sterling/Rock Falls with
subsidy. We are reviewing the carrier's proposal. We have also received the
communities' comments on their essential air service requirements.

Since we will not complete the essential air service case by February 9, 1985,
- we must require Britt Airways to continue to provide essential air service to
Sterling/Rock Falls. Therefore, in accordance with section 419(a)(6) of the
Act, we will extend Britt's service obligation at Sterling/Rock Falls for an
      additional 30-day period, through March 11, 1985.
