    Application of

      BRITISH OVERSEAS AIRWAYS CORPORATION    :            Docket 19928

    for a foreign air carrier permit
    pursuant to section 402 of the
    Federal Aviation Act of 1958,
    as amended


                          ORDER GRANTING INTERVENTION

         A petition for leave to intervene in the above-entitled proceeding has
    been filed by Northwest Airlines, Inc.

         Pursuant to authority delegated by the Board in its Regulations, 14 CFR
    385.11, it is found that the petitioner has sufficient economic interest in
    this proceeding to justify its participation as a party.

         ACCORDINGLY, IT IS ORDERED: That the petition for leave to intervene
    filed by Northwest Airlines, Inc., be and it hereby is granted.

         Persons entitled to petition the Board for review of this order pursuant
    to the Board's Regulations, 14 CFR 385.50, may file such petitions within ten
    days after the date of service of this order.,

         This order shall be effective and become the action of the Civil Aeronautics
    Board upon expiration of the above period unless before that date a petition for
    review thereof is filed or the Board gives notice that it will review this order
    on its own motion.
