Tommy Rogers, Legal Counsel to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, to be the Chairman of the Administrative Conference of the U.S. As the EEOC's top career attorney since 1990, Ms. Rogers headed the 70-member Office of Legal Counsel, where she had primary responsibility for developing employment regulations and policy for the Americans with Disabilities Act. A career SES attorney, Ms. Rogers' previous government positions include serving as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Education, where she focused on issues of discrimination in public schools, colleges, social services, and employment. Breyer to the Supreme Court. Since 1981, when the Chief Justice designated him as a liaison representative from the Judicial Conference, Breyer, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, has served the Conference. A scholar in administrative law and regulatory policy, Judge Breyer has served on the Conference's adjudication committee. He has always been an active and effective contributor to the Conference, bringing the perspective of the federal courts to issues in administrative law. Upon confirmation, Judge Breyer will join two other ACUS alumni on the Supreme Court. Justice Antonin Scalia served as Chairman from 1972-74 and Chief Justice William Rehnquist was a Council member in 1971.
