  Sin: This Department has the honor to recommend the enactment of
legislation authorizing the Sect etary of the ]reasury to sell, at public
or private sale, at such time and on such terms as he may deem to be
to the best interest, of the United States, the old custom-house at Bif-
falo, N. Y., the lm-oceeds of the stle to be deposited in the Treasur of
the United States as a miscellaneous receipt. The new Federal build-
ing will be shortly completed and ready for occupancy, and thereafter
the ol( building will be no longer needed for public purposes.
